Beaulieu Vineyard Wedding

When our couple talked about their wedding day, I could feel how in love they were with this venue.  Their design was much like the Beaulieu, romantic, and minimalistic. They were letting the surroundings tie into the overall design. Meredith Law created a floral design out of this world, starting with their ceremony site at the Sunken Gardens. When it came to ceremony tradition,s our couple wanted to make sure they incorporated a little from each of their heritage. From our groom, Meredith and the Cole Drake team design a Sofreh, a custom ceremony tradition in the Persian culture. Later that evening, they also incorporated a very intimate Vietnamese Tea Ceremony with our brides and grooms’ immediate family. Like a true California wedding, the reception was held outdoors under a beautiful sycamore tree canopy. Providing the perfect background as the night faded away.

Our approach

Beaulieu had been on our venue bucket list for a very long time. I knew the day we had the opportunity to photograph a wedding there we were going to make it extra special for our couple. Because the venue is very versatile and had so many iconic locations, we asked our couple what their favorite parts of Beaulieu were. We talked about the long driveway lined with beautiful oak trees and the Italian Garden. On the day of, we did something I call light mapping. This technique helps us navigate the portrait sessions throughout the day (Bridal Party, family formals, first look, sunset photos, etc.) We know where the sun will set and what is the best time to utilize the space to capture the best lighting. Our couple wanted a bit of an organic look with a touch of editorial poses.

Every wedding we photograph is so different. From traditions to the environment and personalities. I want my couples to feel like we are capturing authentic moments that truly represent who they are.
