Beaulieu Gardens in Rutherford, CA, holds the bar high, and it’s no wonder why it’s the most Iconic destination venue in the Napa Valley.

Micro weddings may slowly be a thing of the past, and I, for one, can’t wait to see them in our rearview mirror. But every once in a while, we get front row seats to some of the most romantic elopements you’ve ever seen. The ones that pull all the heartstrings and make you ugly cry behind the camera, but also make you wish the day would never end.

Hailey and Patrick planned the perfect wedding in Lake Como, Italy. But we all know what happened. So when they decided to move their wedding across the country and host their Beaulieu Gardens wedding, I wanted them to have an indistinguishable experience from the wedding they had initially planned. So together, we talked about what was most important to them and how we would create timeless moments. That’s when we came up with the idea of getting ready together. This became one of the most treasured moments a couple could have on their wedding day. It was magical.

Beaulieu is Iconic, a true time capsule, and I would even say quintessential. Our entire team was a dream to work with, from the beautiful blooms by Anastasia Andenmatten to the phenomenal cinematography by Taylor Petrinovich and the sweetest ceremony by Tan Weddings and Events. Beaulieu is so different with each season, and we love to use the versatile gardens differently every time we visit since no two weddings will ever be the same. My couples experience Beaulieu differently by finding spaces that have meaning to their personality. When Hailey and Patrick talked about Beaulieu, they wanted to capture the true essence of Napa. Being Florida natives and not sharing this experience with their loved ones, documenting authentic, unposed moments was very important.

Our wedding day approach

Finding the right balance of in-between moments and gently guided prompts is somewhat magical. When we first approach each couple, I want to reassure them that I can document them as themselves. Be snuggly, sassy, classic, or if laughing and giggling is your thing, do it. There is no one pose fits all! Assuming you’re not professional models, I anticipate the “we are so awkward in front of the camera.” But my friend, I’m here to tell you not to worry. I’m going to make you feel incredibly confident.
