Villa Montalvo is one of my all-time favorite venues. Built back in 1912, filled with the charm of its era. This Mediterranean Villa is going to give you all the feels. This venue has countless possibilities when it comes to having your ceremony and reception. Villa Montalvo is 175 Acres and home to multiple gardens to host your wedding. When deciding on ceremony locations, Montalvo has many beautiful options. Our favorite would be The historic Italianate Garden. With its iconic long aisle and stunning background of the villa itself, you can’t go wrong. Pair that with our sweet couple, and an amazing eye for style, you get a wedding day to remember.
Our approach on their wedding day
When we spoke about what was important to them, Priscilla and Francois wanted to make sure we had enough time to capture plenty of bride and groom portraits during their first look, and sunset portraits. Along with ample time to capture family formals. Each time we approach a wedding, we make sure we are aligning with their vision. Every wedding is going to be slightly different. Whether it be cultural traditions or introducing new elements, we make sure all of their needs are met.
With every wedding, we want to tell a story. The story of you. There is no over posing, no staging, and no intrusion. Over the years, we have learned how to direct our couples to bring out natural moments of who they are and how they would naturally interact with each other.
The Design at Villa Montalvo
Francois is from France, and with Priscilla often travels overseas to visit family and attend friend’s weddings. When it came to Villa Montalvo, they found a mix of both worlds that would emerge their guest in a true California style. Because Villa Montalvo has lush gardens, it was easy to come up with a design to complement their venue with help from Cynthy form A Touch of Grace Events.
Blush was the primary color for their design, followed by ivory tones and a touch of earth tones brought in with cross back chairs and tables. Floor-length blush table runners to compliment the floral arrangements filled with beautiful blooms From Home Sweet Floral. White ranunculus, lush garden roses, white lisianthus, a touch of hydrangeas white stock, and for texture a little dark plum astrantia and Queen ann’s lace.
